Things I Couldn’t Have Predicted Five Years Ago.

Life is full of surprises. As much as I loved teaching, I didn’t expect to be tutoring 20 or more hours a week. I need a day planner now. (NICE!)

I would have denied that I could self-publish my own books or that my only sale would be an ebook to a publisher of erotic romance. (Really?)

Editing freelance seemed like it might be an occasional thing, not a business with a queue.  I have regular clients. (LOVE IT!) Almost 3 years ago I became an editor for a new publisher and now I’m Vice President of the Gilded Dragonfly Books! (Pinch me now.)

I retired but now I work more than most people with full-time jobs and I LOVE it!

I’d have laughed if you’d told me I’d do a monthly Facebook event.  Facebook scared me! Now I host a monthly event with Scarlet.

What has happened to you in the past 5 years that you wouldn’t have predicted but you’re glad it did?

Way to go, girl! I didn’t think I’d have 4 published novels and 1 on the way or that I’d be writing ad copy (in my retirement) for an advertising agency. Linda

Good for you Mary. Glad you enjoy your various endeavors. I, too, am more busy than when I had a full-time day job.

Mona, all this work is supposed to keep me young. I should be back in my 40’s, if that’s true!

  6. Mary, you have enough energy for three women. And don’t ever stop tutoring. Not only will the kids miss you, you will miss the sense of achievement you get from shaping young minds.

  7. It’s been a wild ride these last couple years! Wouldn’t have believed it I’d had a crystal ball telling me.
