  1. Pamela Devereux says:

The very first poem that I learned was Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost. The next one was Autumn Movement by Carl Sandburg. In 2006 I saw Tyler Perry’s moive Family Reunion and heard Maya Angelou reciting her poem In and Out of Time. It is more powerful when you hear the writer recite their poems. It moved me to read more by her,

  3. I have two favorites. The Highwayman by Alfred Lloyd-Noyes, and I think you would classify The White Cliffs of Dover, which is written in verse, as poetry, but maybe not. It has long been a favorite.
