Who is Leif Erickson?

Today is the day we honor Leif Erickson. So, who is Leif Erickson? (Ha-just kidding!)

For those of you who don’t know (like me before I wrote this post), Leif Erikson was the Norse explorer who brought the first Europeans known to have set foot in North America. Leif Erikson left the European continent in 999 and set foot in America in the year 1,000.

    Eric the Red was a viking. We learned about him when we were in grade school. He was just someone they thought would be fun to learn about.
