On my soapbox for a few minutes, here.
Many writers pour blood, sweat, and tears into their books. I know some people who publish on Amazon aren’t ready for prime time, while others just won’t appeal to everyone. Reviews include 5 levels, which helps people get an idea what readers think about them.
We know when we publish our books we are risking rejection, though we hope for sincere praise. I won’t whine, but I do wonder how reviewers can give a book a 1 or 2 out of 5 while saying the story and characters are good. Since I have had at least 4 reads by critique partners for all of my books, I must wonder how likely it is that any of these books is “riddled with errors”.
I plan to publish some of my Indie books in paperback and really want readers willing to read some of my books and make comments before I hunker to edit and proof and reformat them.
I will gift a copy of one of the books shown here to anyone willing to let me know if there are indeed errors in them. Comment here or www.MaryMarvella.com or on Facebook Mary Marvella, Author http://on.fb.me/1fWEnGe and I will send you one of the books free. I am not looking for a critique or heavy edit, just a yes or no or “see pages x and XX for a spelling mistake or extra commas or such” will help.We all make mistakes and we see other folks’ errors better than we see our own.

COMING SOON, 2 NEW ANTHOLOGIES AND A NOVEL AND A NOVELLA!
I’ve read them and really enjoyed them. If I ever get caught up, I’ll zip through one on my kindle and let you know if I see anything. But you know when you suck me into the story, I don’t see any mistakes! Too busy reading to see what’s going to happen next!

I tend to agree when I’m into a story I don’t see the mistakes. But I also know errors creep in past editors and copy editors. Fresh eyes are a good idea. I wish I had time to read, but at the moment I don’t. Your stories will find readers quickly. Good luck with your new publishing ventures.

After I’ve reviewed my novels for the millionth time…there are errors that I simply won’t see. A fresh pair of eyes (or 2 or 3 or 4!) is always a good idea.

Thanks, Joanne! Sometimes I suspect these people are wrong, but who knows? I sometimes thing the southernisms are thought to be errors.
