Road Trip to Orlando, Fla!

What can be better than 4 women in a van? 4 writers in a van on the way to a national romance writers conference!

Years back I roomed with Melba Moon (Author M J Flournoy), a dear friend, and Nanci Race, someone I had never met. Instant friendship happened. Nanci is delightful and funny.

Fast forward to August 2017. I picked Nanci up at the Atlanta, Georgia airport and took her to La Grange so we could ride to Orlando in Melba’s lovely new van! Nanci and I talked all the way to La Grange. (I did a lot of the talking!) Then Melba and Nanci did a lot of catching up. I enjoyed watching and listening to my friends.

In Warner Robins, Georgia, about 2 hours plus breakfast at IHop we stopped for Carol Shaughnessy. Within minutes the atmosphere became like a party! Nanci and Carol bonded over red wine and songs they both loved. “Red, Red Wine,” got them going!

Packing light isn’t easy!

When we arrived at the hotel our stuff went on 2 carts. What a waste of space!

When we left we packed more stuff in less space!

Don’t get me wrong. Carol and Melba and I are buds. Melba and I edit Carol’s books and critique with her. She loves us, even though we have given her edits she did NOT love! We teach her and we learn from her.  We would have enjoyed the trip to Orlando and the week there. Carol and Nanci were like old friends within minutes

By the end of the trip we were all even closer!
